Having worked all my life in the field of scientific and medical research, first as a researcher and then as a policy manager, it was only natural to engage in the EUpALS Patients and Carers Expert Board now that I have been diagnosed with ALS. I hope that my experience will help me contribute actively to the work of the board.

I am 56 in 2025 and was diagnosed September 2024 with ALS. I live with my partner and her children in Brussels. I am the father of 22-year-old twin daughters currently studying photography for one, and sustainable development for the other. Until recently, I was an avid biker, using my bicycles to get around my city, to travel around Europe and for sports.
